Saturday 15 September, 29 September, 13 October, 3 November 2018

Join RHS medal winning garden designer Paul Herrington for a fun and relaxed course over four one-day sessions to help you design or re-think your own garden. Paul will share his top tips and skills to help you to make a start designing your own garden.

We will take inspiration from the extraordinary surroundings of the Botanic Garden, with walk and talk sessions out in the Garden as well as discussions and practical talks in the Classroom. The course is designed for absolute beginners.

  • Session 1 (15 Sep) Imagine your Garden: design principles, ideas and inspiration.
  • Session 2 (29 Sep) Measure and record: simple surveying and scale drawing.
  • Session 3 (13 Oct) What goes where: developing a basic layout plan for your garden.
  • Session 4 (3 Nov) Right plant, right place: the basics of creating planting plans for year round structure and interest.
